Faster Payments
Electronic insurance claims submission, referred to as EMC
(Electronic Media Claims), involves sending insurance claims
through a modem. Electronic claims are received and processed by
insurance carriers more quickly than paper claims, which means
you receive your payments faster – sometimes in half the time.
Insurance carriers encourage physicians to use their electronic
claims facilities because it’s less costly to process an
electronic claim than a paper claim.
How The Physician Benefits
Many insurance carriers offer earlier payment and other
incentives to physicians who submit their claims electronically.
For claims to be paid their absolute fastest, your practice
needs Medisoft Electronic Claims Direct.
Electronic Claims are as Easy as Paper
Electronic Claims Direct works the same as your already
familiar paper claims process. Instead of selecting the
operation to print paper claims, select the operation to
transmit electronic claims. The entire process, from dialing to
file transmission, is automated. Medisoft Electronic Claims
Direct uses a direct dial – no Internet connection is needed.
Which Claims Can Go Direct?
Medisoft Electronic Claims Direct software is offered for
selected insurance carriers. Contact your independent Medisoft
dealer or Medisoft sales directly for information on which
Medisoft Electronic Claims Direct modules are available in your
area.
Free Electronic Claims Software Isn't
Free
Carrier-supplied software
works differently than Medisoft, requiring extra time and added
frustration to effectively learn and use the program. Claims
information sometimes needs to be entered a second time in
carrier-supplied software, requiring more time to do the same
job. Medisoft Electronic Claims Direct is developed by the
makers of Medisoft, giving you the same familiar menus and
screens with which to work. Medisoft Electronic Claims Direct
gets its information from your billing files, so there’s no
need to re-key the information or exit the familiar Medisoft
menus.
