BACKUP

NOT SUCCESSFUL

Check and clear the alerts – restart the computer and let it run the next morning – it runs at 2:00 am

Check the tape – tape tab – red tab must be on the WRITE side (unlocked). Lots of times users move it to the LOCKED position – don’t know how

Make sure the tape is not broken – open the little metal arm on tape – there should be a tape running across underneath the arm – compare it to the other tapes to see difference.  Lots of times it breaks.

CAN’T CONNECT TO DATA PATH – PATH NOT FOUND IN Medisoft

When the screen in Medisoft comes up when trying to open Medisoft….DATA PATH NOT FOUND….

Make sure the data path is \\SERVER\APPS\MEDIDATA and the UNC is checked

If no one can’t get into the program (Medisoft), go into CONTROL PANEL / ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS / SERVICES / right click on ADVANTAGE DATABASE click on STOP and then right click on it and click on START to restart the service.

Make sure that the HUB /ROUTER has lights on – reset it.  

DLS IS DOWN

Make sure that all users are out of the system …reset router (LINKSYS)…there should be a label on the unit itself (ROUTER). ….if it does not work…call have office manager contact the ISP to check DSL signal…In most cases it is SNET

CAN’T PRINT – SPECIALLY GOLDFARB

Make user can print locally without connecting to server – tell user to logoff the system and try to print locally

Connect user.  Make sure printers exist in PRINTERS folder on the server – not the user’s computer.  If they do not then go to CONTROL PANERL / ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS / SERVICES / RIGHT CLICK ON PRINT SPOOLER / STOP / START SERVICE TO RESTART SERVICE.

COMPUTER DOES NOT COME UP


Unplug the cable from the back of the computer for 30 seconds.  Then plug it back in.  Restart the computer.

Click on STORE MANAGER / PROCESS / ORDERS / YAHOO SECURITY KEY IS admin AND THE NUMBER WITH NORMALLY USE SUE.  View and review pending orders, make corrections to amounts if necessary then submit batch so we can get paid.

Go into CONTROL PANEL / ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS / EVENT VIEWER / SECURITY LOG / DOUBLE CLICK ON EACH ONE / YOU’LL SEE A DATE AND A TIME WHEN USER EMBS1 OR DIEGORA OR ADMINISTRATOR GOT IN THE SYSTEM.

 RUN REPORTS FROM Medisoft – DATA AUDIT REPORT – PRODUCTIVITY REPORT FOR EACH USER.

 LABELS PRINTING 3 LABELS AND NOT ONE LABEL FROM CUSTOM Medisoft

Tell user to preview the labes / click on FILE / PAGE SETUP / SET all margins as close to the following number as possible:  .10 ( all four margins ) make sure page orientation is LANDSCAPE.

 REPORTS DO NOT PRINT ON ONE PAGE – CUTS OFF PART OF THE PAGE ON THE RIGHT SIDE

Set margins smaller / Preview report / set page margins – all four to .25

 Name of file server:  SERVER

Tcp/ip for SERVER:192.168.1.99

 Default gateway for all computers 192.168.1.1

Default DNS  204.60.0.2      204.60.0.3

 All computers use static ip addressing….no DHCP – disable it

 Router is normally a Linksys - password is ASK SUE

To get to Linksys router type http://192.168.1.1 enter password - no username

 Location of data on file server including documents and Medisoft data is in SERVER AT   C:\APPS 

SHARE ON THE SERVER FOR DATA IS  C:\APPS\MEDIDATA  WITH FULL ACCESS TO ALL USERS. 

Path for Medisoft DATA IN THE SERVER:  \\SERVER\APPS\MEDIDATA  (WHICH IS C:\APPS\MEDIDATA)

 Path for Medisoft DATA FOR EACH WORKSTATION IS:  \\SERVER\APPS\MEDIDATA

 REGISTRATION FILES – PROGRAM ASKS USER TO REGISTER THE PROGRAM AGAIN….

We always keep a copy of the registration files on the file server in the case this happens.  Go to C:\APPS\ ON THE FILE SERVER.  DOUBLE CLIKC ON REGISTRATION FILES  / SELECT ALL THE FILES / GO TO C:\APPS\MEDIDATA CLICK ON EDIT / PASTE…OVERWRITE ALL FILES IN THE FOLDER.
